Kaitlin Hanley
Senior Strategy Associate
Born in New York City and raised in Madison, NJ, Kaitlin Hanley developed a strong foundation in faith through her Catholic elementary school and active parish involvement. She went on to study finance at the University of Notre Dame, where she deepened her understanding of Catholic values and their role in building strong, sustainable institutions. With a background in investment banking, Kaitlin brings her expertise to The Catholic Initiative, where she plays a key role in working to restore and endow Catholic parishes and schools in perpetuity, ensuring they remain vibrant centers of faith, fellowship, and renewal for generations to come.
Kaitlin is passionate about the Church as a vital “third place”—a refuge where young people can find faith, support, and community in an increasingly disconnected world. She has witnessed firsthand the power of a strong faith community through her grandparents, whose deep commitment to their Catholic faith has profoundly shaped their lives. To her, Catholic churches are more than places of worship—they are pillars of faith, connection, and compassion in a culture often dominated by materialism.
Now based in Chicago, Kaitlin enjoys reading, walking along Lake Michigan, Pilates, and exploring the city’s restaurant scene. She also loves traveling to visit friends and spending time with her rescue dog, Sprinkles, who has been a wonderful addition to her life. Her passion for Catholic community-building extends beyond her work, as she believes deeply in creating spaces where people feel welcome, supported, and connected.
